April Progress Report


Dear all,

 

April has seen much progress on El Barranco Resort and equally good progress with the surrounding infrastructure works of the Town Hall’s contractor.

 

  1. The concrete liners for 5 of the 6 swimming pools have been laid, with works on the sixth pool presently progressing well.
  2. Almost all apartments and villas have at least one coat of external paint. Blocks A and B have three coats and only need touching up in places.
  3. With the arrival of the terrace skirting tiles this has meant that they could be fixed in place and then the follow on task of locating of each of the plant boxes carried out. This has now been done to the majority of the apartments to Blocks A and B. The planters have been filled with drainage gravel and soil, in preparation for installation of the automatic irrigation system and plants.
  4. The covered walkways beneath the ground floor apartments of Blocks B and D have or are presently being created with base slabs of concrete being laid in readiness for tiling over.
  5. Most of the garden dividing walls of the individual villas have been built up to incorporate plant boxes where appropriate.
  6. Kitchen units have been installed within almost all apartments and villas.
  7. Wardrobes and internal doors have been assembled and installed in the majority of apartments of Blocks A and B with attention and progress now turning to Blocks C and D and the villas.
  8. The timber trellis with is laid on top of the timber pergolas above each terrace have been fixed in place to the first floor apartments within Block B. The rest will follow on.
  9. The retaining wall structure above Pool 1 is presently being built up to form a spectacular backdrop, incorporating the cascading waterfall which will issue from between a plateau of palms and other vegetation all in between the Bridge and Pool 1. It should look fantastic viewed from your sun lounger by the pools, your terrace or from the Island bar in the centre of Pool 1.
  10. On April 25th the first meeting of the El Barranco Resort Community took place at which Taurus Developments appointed WimPen Leisure Management as managers of the Community of Owners. WimPen manage a number of other complexes to a very high standard and we are confident that they will look after your best interests and manage El Barranco efficiently and competently. I was appointed President, until you all become legal owners of your properties and the first AGM is held at which point the presidency will pass to one of yourselves via nominations and proper voting. In the meantime I will look after your interests, which I consider being ensuring that the Resort is completed to the highest standards.
